First of all I’m so excited that Nel at Reactionary Tales came up with this brilliant tag! I’m loving it!!
The Guide:
- Thank the person who tagged you and create a pingback to the original author.
- Share at least 5 (but more are welcome) romances that tugged your heart strings. They can be from books, movies, TV shows, manga; anything you can think of! They can be examples of sad tears, angry tears, happy tears or a combination of all three.
- Nominate 5 (or more) people to share their emotional traumas
- (Note: Try not to spoil the story for your readers in case they would like to check out these romances on their own)
I tag: (no pressure to participate just having some fun!)
I will start out with my favorite author – Nora Roberts
These were the first books I read by her and was hooked (sorry I’m a girlie girl 🙂 )

JEWELS OF THE SUN
Book One of the Gallaghers of Ardmore Trilogy
In Gallagher’s Pub, where the fire is burning low and the pints are waiting, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts has a story to tell…
Determined to reevaluate her life, Jude Murray flees America to take refuge in Faerie Hill Cottage, immersing herself in the study of Irish folklore and discovering hope for the future of the magical past.
Finally back home in Ireland after years of traveling, Aidan Gallagher possesses an uncommon understanding of his country’s haunting myths. Although he’s devoted to managing the family pub, a hint of wildness still glints in his eyes—and in Jude, he sees a woman who can both soothe his heart and stir his blood. And he begins to share the legends of the land with her—while they create a passionate history of their own.
TEARS OF THE MOON
Book Two of the Gallaghers of Ardmore Trilogy
High above the tidy village of Ardmore on a windy cliff, there is magic and music in the air, and #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts will help you find it…
A talented songwriter, Shawn Gallagher spends his days lost in reverie and wonder, oblivious to the wiles of women and the ways of the world. He claims that he’s content with his life, but his music tells a different story—one of loneliness and desperate longing…
No one understands why Shawn doesn’t put his musical gift to profitable use—least of all Brenna O’Toole, a fiercely independent tomboy who has been secretly in love with him for years. But it is only when Shawn gives in to the mysteries of magic that he gets the chance to fulfill his destiny as a man and a musician.

A wealthy businessman with Irish blood, Trevor Magee has come to Ardmore to build a theater—and to uncover the secrets hidden in his family’s past. He thought he had given up on love long ago, but Darcy Gallagher tempts him like no woman ever has. She’s gorgeous and intelligent, and she knows what she wants—and he’s more than willing to give it to her. Now for my all time favorite – seen at least a 1000+ times movies:
I must warn you – this list consists of 100% CHICK FLICKS
**with the exception of 2 little unexpected sneak ins….
A lonely Bob Rueland is embraced by Grace Briggs, who is surrounded by a coterie of substitute mothers including her Irish grandfather, who, with his Italian brother-in-law, run a Chicago restaurant.
Nobody could have imagined the impact that the striking Vianne would make when she arrived in an old-fashioned French town. In her chocolate shop, Vianne begins to create mouth-watering confections that inspire the villagers to abandon themselves to happiness! But it is not until another stranger, the handsome Roux arrives in town that Vianne is finally able to recognize her own desires!
A writer impulsively buys a villa in Tuscany in order to change her life.
This Cinderella is far from a victim. Much to her stepmother’s demise, Danielle’s independence and intelligence attract the love of the prince.
A perennial playboy who has never dated a woman over thirty finds that love is as serious as a heart attack when he falls for his girlfriend’s mother. Too bad she’s now dating his young doctor! There’s only one way they can all get what they want: Something’s Gotta Give.
A refined women’s club raises money by selling a risqué calendar.
New York playwright Sidda Lee Walker is a long way from her Louisiana hometown, but an even greater emotional distance separates her from her mother Vivi.
**(I loved the book and Rebecca Wells)
Last ones I promise – This movie is not a romance but I have watched it at least 50 could be more times (no kidding) within the past 6 months. It is Mia’s (my youngest grand daughter) favorite movie. I know every single line and ending of this movie like the back of my hand. No matter how many times I watch it or hear the music I cry, sob. It affects Mia’s mother the same way. It is a part of her childhood memories as well.
As Andy prepares for college, Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of Andy’s faithful toys wonder what will become of them. But, when a mix-up lands them at Sunnyside Daycare, they meet a host of new toys and discover a new adventure is just beginning!
The magic, excitement and wonder of the true Peter Pan come to life in this spellbinding fantasy adventure that’s destined to be a family favorite for years to come!
(this is a beautiful movie with a soundtrack that is breathtaking-composed by James Newton Howard. We know the story of Peter Pan but I so wished they could have lived happily ever after together)
I thought it would be best to use the excerpts from reviews for these books/movies in hopes of not spoiling it for anyone. Also, I love all of these movies soundtracks!
I could list sooooo many, many more but for now I will leave it as is.
Thanks Nel – this was a fabulous and fun tag!

Thank you so much for the tag! I’m going to have to reach far back to my days as an English major for this one. I can’t think of the last time I read something fiction!!I live for non-fiction text. I don’t think books about chicken breeding, although romantic, would count! Ha! 😜🐔

I don’t know – I love chickens and have had my heart broken over them so many times! I’ve laughed until I cried watching them chase bugs around the yard, and worried about my guy rooster and how aggressive he was with the girls! Sounds like a good making to a romance hahaha 😉
